"Following The Weeping Statue, the second part of a single film on sacred sculpture, from 1400 untill 1700. It is the Great Mountain Theatre of the Sacred Mountain of Varallo.
It is inhabited, chapel after chapel, by crowds which seem petrified. Statues of flesh and bones, whose gestures cut the air, ruthlessly, to come before us to tell their story and their tortured passion."
