A VOYAGE INTO THE SEA OF TRUTHS / ANDREA DE CARLO

2006  /  12’

Starting from Andrea De Carlo's words, images dreams seas glasses hidden truths: an uproar of reflexes that renders, in another form, the events of the novel following one upon another:
A Roma sprawled in the privilege of its climate and politics;
A father who has just died, whose body has already been laid and dressed for the last salute;
The burning memorial of a Senegalese Cardinal died of AIDS:
An unexpected series of thefts chases dead men;
The encounter with a woman as much mysterious as immediately close;
The almost physical sensation of an invisible mesh net pressing against you.

Yet, most of all, the sea around, with its reflexes its shadows its mysterious transparency.

"I tried to focussed on the sparkling sea on my right, to inhale the smell of air. Then my heart began to beat again and I started to run towards her, quicker than I remember I had ever run."
